KILTWALK 2017

A few years ago I went through to Perth and saw the Kilt Run take off; a 5k run around the North Inch of Perth and I thought to myself why not try this?
And the reason I have never tried it before is that I am not a runner, I fail after more than five minutes. However when I discovered the Kilt Walk I was the happiest little bunny that you ever did see. The kilt walk is a much longer experience but you don't have to run the whole way around it.

Scotties of The Countries - KiltRun

During the Kilt Walk you have three different walks that you can take part of so there really is something for everyone.
The Wee Wander is a 5 mile walk through the centre of the town which allows novices, injured or small children to take part and achieve without pushing their limits.
The Big Stroll pushes you a bit further with a 12 mile walk around the city.
The Mighty Stride (the one that I will be taking part in) is 26 miles all around the city, out to Portobello and coming back to Murrayfield where it began.

All three of the walks end up at Murrayfield for a big after party to celebrate the achievement of the walks. I can honestly say that I cannot wait to be able to take part and say that I have completed this challenge, but at the same time I'm slightly terrified. We will be starting out at 9am and based on the average walking speed will not be done until about half five. That's a lot of walking and I don't think that I will make it in to work the next day as my legs will be on the couch and moving for nothing.

Of course doing this walk is not just for the fun of it, I'm fundraising for the wonderful charity that I volunteer for - Dreams Come True. This charity originates in England and is getting more well known now in Scotland. Having a bigger name in Scotland means being able to help more Scottish Children.
The charity works with children aged 2-21 with life threatening or life shortening illness to help make their dreams a reality. They are a wonderful charity with a great cause that I love being a part of. Being the biggest Disney girl around I am definitely all about having dreams of my own and working towards them as I'm sure many people do. Imagine being able to help those brave children who battle on everyday of their lives with no complaint - making them happy creating one of their dreams. It is something I am very proud to be a part of and even prouder still to be fundraising for.

The Kilt Walk is 17th of September so if you want to sign up then head over to their page and choose your miles.

If you would also like to help the children that I raising money for then please head to my fundraising page to donate. Even just £5 helps us get closer to our goal!
