MY 20's BUCKET LIST

Recently turning 25 led me to think about all of the things in my life that I've achieved and that I'm so thankful for. It also made me think about all those things in life that I've still yet to do, whether they are small things like trying to read more or bigger things like travel more. I decided I wanted to make a bucket list of 25 things I want to try and do with the second half of my twenties.

Travel and Explore
I'm in the middle of travelling Australia and New Zealand so that area is covered. I think though that with the new found freedom and confidence of a trip to the other side of the world for a year, has made me realise there's nothing but myself standing in the way of all the other places I want to go and travel.

Run a 5k
When I go to the gym I mainly do strength training because I am hopeless with cardio. If I could manage to run even just a 5K, I would be so proud of myself for surviving.

Write More
I have my blog as a place to write but I haven't done much fictional writing in a very long time. I would quite like to let my imagination run free again, with lots of new ideas and characters to discover.

Go Vegan for a Short Time
For anyone who doesn't know, I recently became a vegetarian. I am very happy with finally committing to this lifestyle but I'm interested to see what kind of recipes and foods I would turn to with a vegan lifestyle.

Go Tech Free for a Week.
Now this doesn't necessarily mean I will be off my phone completely, as I will still need to be in touch with people I imagine. What it does mean is no television (or netflix) and no social media. No using technology to distract myself from every day life.

Master Baking
I used to love baking but between having no one to bake for and having body image issues, I've stopped it in the last few years. Now I can barely make banana bread without it going wrong.

Rejoin a Charity
With heading to Australia, I had to give up my place working with the development team for Dreams Come True. I had so much fun doing the Kiltwalk and organising the pub quiz for them, I definitely want to get in to charity work again when I'm settled.

Hike Scotland's Hills
I truly never took advantage of living in Scotland and one thing I've always wanted to do, ever since I was little, is hike around the hills of the Highlands. I used to go to a place with my parents near Glencoe where we would have a picnic and be surrounded by all of this wonderful scenery. I would run and run and never seem to get anywhere, but I swore that one day I would make it to the top.

Live in London
As a musical theatre fanatic, I've always wanted to live in London. Not forever but just to be close to the West End and all the other theatres for shows that pop up for a month or so. Being close to all the hustle and bustle would be a great thing to take advantage of.

Do More Video Projects
I've always loved filming and editing videos, but the last few years I just haven't had the imagination for what to film. I really want to start getting back in to it (although sadly this one definitely has to wait until next year as all my equipment and editing software is at home)

Watch More Theatre
I love going to the theatre as already mentioned. Right before I left for Australia I started to go to the theatre a lot more often and absolutely loved it. I would so much rather spend my money on the the tickets than going out for dinner - if I could afford both though, that would be just dandy.

Learn a New Language
I've had to admit to myself that I suck at languages. I would love to stick at a language though and be able to speak at least some basics.

Eat at New Places
I'm the worst for trying somewhere new, liking it and forever going back to that one place. I want to keep finding really good new places to eat, so that my repertoire for dinner has a little more option.

I love reading and always seem to make the excuse not to. I choose the easier option of Netflix a lot of the time when I shouldn't really. I joined the library for whilst I'm in Brisbane and have definitely been making use of those books already.

Find Different Ways to Stay in Shape
I think what I would really like to do, is find different fun ways of keeping up with being healthy that don't necessarily tie me down to just the gym. I go out and do things sometimes, mainly cycling, but I want to do more on a regular basis.

Find Home
In the next five years I'm really hoping that I will find myself a home. Since I was little I've moved around quite a lot. Not a massive amount, but enough that I've never stayed one place for more than seven years in the past 25 (that was Edinburgh). With my parents living in New Zealand, I don't really know where I will end up after Australia, but I really do want to find somewhere I can call home.

Go Horseriding
I've not been horse riding since I was eleven. I used to love doing it and can still remember every big fall I managed to give my parents a heart attack with. Still loved getting back up there though.

Take my Brother Skiing
My brother mentioned he was interested in going Skiing whilst we were in New Zealand. That might not work since we will be there in the summer, but no harm in trying to fit it in somewhere else.

Worry Less
I'm the most anxious person there is. I worry about whats going to happen in the future, I struggle with my body image and other peoples opinions of me and what I do with my life. Those everyday thoughts that stress you out - it would be nice if they faded out.

Explore More Opportunities
In the past I've been known to be bored about doing the same old things over and over again without going to find something new. Being unemployed in Australia, you have to go and find those things to do whilst you have the chance - with some of those opportunities even leading on to bigger ones.

Go to Anaheim
Being the big Disney nerd that I am, I would love to go to California to experience the original Disneyland, having been to Disney World almost ten times already and Paris twice. If I happen to be there at the same time as the D23 Expo then that would be fabulous.

Go to Broadway
I've always wanted to go to New York, but with Anastasia playing on Broadway, I now have a definite need to make it to see the musical if I can.

Stay in the Present
I'm terrible for always planning new things to go and do. Whilst that is amazing because my life is full of trips and adventures, I also sometimes forget to just enjoy whatever I'm doing at that moment and appreciate what I have.

Complete More Fundraising Challenges
Whether it's a cycling challenge, walking between two cities or making sure I do the Kilt walk every year, I definitely want to keep going with fitness and fundraising combined.

Do What Makes ME Happy
I'm forever second guessing myself because I have other peoples opinions, whispered in to my ear. I do things to accommodate or make other people happy. At the end of the day though, I'm living my life and I need to learn that my decisions are never going to suit everyone's ideals.

LET THE ADVENTURES BEGIN!
